- HOME & GARDEN
There are lots of places where you can enjoy your FieldCandy swing, whether it be indoors or outdoors. Follow the below instructions to find out how to hang you FieldCandy swing in a variety of different situations.
FieldCandy swings come as standard with 2 x Stainless Steel Simplex Rope Grips and 2 x Stainless Steel Carabiners which allow you to install the swing on a tree bough (providing that the tree has a suitable bough at approximately the correct height).
For a longer-term solution for securing the swing to a tree bough, which will do no damage to the tree as it grows and will allow the swing to be dismantled with ease, is to use a pair of FieldCandy tree straps, which can be purchased on our Swing Hanging Accessories page. These straps are fitted and tightened around the tree branch as instructed. The swing then simply clips to the stainless steel loop at the end of the tree strap. The tree strap adds 90cm/36” to the rope length.
When planning to fix the swing to a timber frame construction, we recommend using a pair of swing hooks, suitable for both round and square timbers up to 13cm/5” in depth, or countersunk of the depth exceeds this. Full instructions are given with the swing hooks, available from Swing Hanging Accessories page.
FieldCandy swings come as standard with 2 x Stainless Steel Simplex Rope Grips and 2 x Stainless Steel Carabiners, allowing you to install the swing (providing that the room has a fully exposed beam at approximately the correct height).
In other situations you may require additional fixing equipment:
Where the beam is not fully exposed, the swing may be installed using either our heavy-duty stainless steel eye bolts or simple screw fixed swing hangers, both available on our Swing Hanging Accessories page.
If the swing is to be used on a long-term regular basis, such as in an office or commercial setting, we suggest using the near-silent ball bearing Marathon fixing kit, again available on our Swing Hanging Accessories page.
Full fitting instructions are given on purchase of each of these kits.
If you don’t have an exposed beam, it is important to establish the exact position of the ceiling joists. This may be done from above, by lifting flooring, or carefully from below. This installation should be carried out with care and, if required, by a suitably qualified tradesperson, using either our heavy duty stainless steel eye bolts or simple screw fixed swing hangers, both available on our Swing Hanging Accessories page.

Your swing may be installed in a doorway, providing that the fittings do not interfere with the shutting of the door, using our simple screw fixed swing hangers, available on our Swing Hanging Accessories page.
The level and height of the swing may be adjusted by simply untying the knots on the underside of the swing and retying them at the correct length. Tying the right knot, that's strong and durable see the illustration and follow the steps shown below.
Please Take all necessary precautions to avoid injury.
Due to the nature of a swing, FieldCandy can only ensure that the swing itself is suitable and safe. As we have no control over the use, siting, positioning or erecting of the swing, we can accept no responsibility or liability for any injury or accident caused by the swing being fixed in an unsafe manner. It is the responsibility of the individual installing and using the product to take the necessary precautions and to ensure the supporting tree, branch or beam is capable of holding the load imposed. If you are in any way concerned, or not entirely confident about creating a safe environment to use the swing, we highly recommend you take advice from or have the swing installed by a suitably qualified tradesperson. In any event, do not install the swing seat more than the recommended 90cm/36” above ground level, and never install it next to a steep drop or water.
